We made boats out of ice today. They turned over in the water and sails were soggy. They melted really fast in the warm pool water but it was so much fun.
For this project
You need: a plastic cup, bendable straw, tape, paper, scissors, hole punch
- First bend your straw and tape the short end to the bottom of your cup. ( trim the straw if needed to make it fit )
- Fill the cup 1/3 with water and let it freeze
- After it has frozen, run water on the outside of the cup to loosen the ice.
- Cut a sail from construction paper and use a hole punch to make two holes for the straw. (we recycled junk mail)
Very cool! And, they can double as bunny ears! LOL! Glad you had fun!
